This website includes my portfolio, articles I've written about web design and life, and info on personal projects I am working on.

Me

I am a graphic designer and web developer. I work with my brother Dave at UpgradeYa. My core strength's lay in graphic design and CSS, with a close second in HTML and Drupal theming/configuration.

History:
I started designing websites in 2001 when my tech-guru friend Scott introduced me to Photoshop. The next 6 years were mostly spent learning the ins-and-outs of Photoshop during my free time. In 2006 I co-founded TeamDRT (now DRT Media) and began my career as a professional graphic designer. After the first few years working as a professional, I realized I was very limited due to my primitive knowledge in web programming. With a firm grip on graphic design, I took a leap into programming land. There I learned skills in HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP which greatly enhanced my ability to make websites on my own. During this time I built my first website, from conception to launch, and it was done completely from scratch. I learned a lot from this, but quickly realized that building from scratch is very time consuming and prone to error. This lead to my investigation of web application frameworks and content management systems, thus familiarizing myself with CakePHP, Wordpress, and Drupal. Early 2010, my brother Dave and I founded a new company, UpgradeYa, focusing explicitly in Drupal web development. I am currently working with Dave at UpgradeYa so give us a call if you have any web needs. I've designed and programmed tons of websites, and I won't be slowing down anytime soon!

Lighter Note:
When I am not working, I attempt to get a six pack by either running or doing p90x workouts. I am still unsuccessful in that endeavor. I also love listening to music and usually do so the entire time I am working. I spend other parts of my free time catching up on the latest liberty movement news and life philosophies. The rest of the time I'm mostly hanging out with friends, family, and the fiancé :)
